PRAYER
Eternal Loving Father, sweet hope of the unhappy, to YOU I can never pray without hope of mercy, grant me the grace, that when I think of YOU, speak of YOU, remember YOU, stand before YOU, offer prayers and praise to YOU, that I may weep with tears pouring profusely in YOUR presence, so that my repentant heart is revealed to YOU. By YOUR Holy Spirit Who softens the hard hearts of sinners, and moves them to tears, grant me the grace of tears, as YOU did grant it to your saints. Saints whose example I should follow and shed tears of gratitude—for receiving YOUR Merciful Love—throughout my remaining life. I ask this in the Most Holy Name of Jesus your Son. Amen.
Dear Jesus, Loving Savior, Word of the Father, King of Glory, and Teacher of all virtue, by word and example YOU taught us to weep and mourn, saying: ‘Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted’ 1. YOU wept for YOUR dead friend 2, and YOU wept over the city that was to perish 3. I beg YOU, O Compassionate Jesus, through YOUR most blessed tears, and through all YOUR tenderness, by which YOU come to save us who were lost, give me this grace of compassionate tears that my soul so longs for. For without YOUR gift of it I cannot possess it. I ask this in YOUR Most Holy Name 4. Amen.
LORD’S PRAYER
[℣] Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your WILL be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. [℟] Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
HAIL MARY
[℣] Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. [℟] Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
GLORIA
[℣] Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. [℟] As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
[℣] May the divine assistance remain always with us, [℟] and may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. [Ⱥ] Amen.

- ↑ — John 11:32-36 [Mary came to the place where Jesus was, and as soon as she saw him, she fell at his feet and said to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping and beheld the Jews who were with her also weeping, he became deeply moved in spirit and angry. He asked, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus began to weep, causing the Jews to say, “See how greatly he loved him!”]
- ↑ — Luke 19:41-44 [As Jesus drew near and beheld the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “If only you had recognized on this day what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your sight. 43 Indeed, the days will come upon you when your enemies will raise up fortifications all around you and hem you in on every side. 44 They will smash you to the ground, you and your children with you, and they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”]
